2012 was an amazing year for music. Here are some of my favorite tracks from the year. Happy New Year to all!
The person who risks nothing, does nothing, has nothing, is nothing, and becomes nothing. He may avoid suffering and sorrow, but he simply cannot learn, feel, change, grow or love. Chained by his certitude, he is a slave; he has forfeited his freedom. Only the person who risks is truly free.

My Christmas present to all my friends out there in cyberspace. Have a drink, listen to some of these songs, and think of me! Merry Christmas to all!

I find comfort in checking out library books. Not because I love reading, but because I take great pleasure in knowing that someone has felt similar to me, or imagined things I’ve imagined, after reading a page from a given book. It is especially comforting when you find a page worth dog-earing—only to discover that someone had previously dog-eared the same page. The anonymity of this connection gives me faith that great thinking is still very much alive.
